Stableroom Playgroup (SCIO)

Situated on the ground level area of Colinton Parish Church rooms, the Stableroom Playgroup (SCIO) runs from 9.15am-12noon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during term time only. Children ideally attend two or three sessions per week.  Some single sessions are occasionally available, so please do get in touch if you are looking for one session  a week.

Fees are currently £20 and are payable termly in advance. Childcare Vouchers and Tax-Free Childcare are accepted as a method of payment.

The Stableroom Playgroup (SCIO) is led by a fully qualified Playleader together with three qualified practitioners.  The playgroup is a member of Early Years Scotland and is subject to regular inspections from the Care Inspectorate. It is a registered charity with externally audited accounts.

Stableroom Playgroup (SCIO) is run by a Parents' Committee. The Committee is elected at an AGM held each September and consists of a Chairperson, a Secretary, a Treasurer, a Fundraising Sub-group and Non Office-bearing Members. New Committee Members are always welcome. If you would like to be on our Committee, please speak to any Committee Member or the Playleader. Many parents have found being involved in the Committee extremely rewarding!

Our vision is to provide a safe, happy and engaging environment for your child and to provide an inviting space where children can lead their own learning and be independent, curious and confident.
