Youth Ministry
There are a number of groups for young people in S1 to S6.
Fusion is for those in S1 - S3 who want to make the transition between Mini-Surge and attending the full service Morning Service. In a relaxed and informal space, members explore the same bible reading as the main congregation but with a more modern "spin".
For those at High School Surge meets on Sunday evenings from 7.30 - 9:00 pm, in the Youth Room. Through a varied programme of events, activities and discussions, we seek to challenge young people to look critically at the world in which they live.
During the week we run Sanctuary, a "drop in" youth cafe, which provides an open meeting place where young people can relax, meet friends and unwind from the pressures of school & home. Sanctuary opens on Wednesday nights from 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Choristers provides opportunities for those up to S6 who enjoy singing. Rehearsals are during term time on Thursdays from 6.00pm - 7.15pm. Members follow the Royal School of Church Music "Voice for Life" programme and take part in various musical activities. In addition and for those who prefer not to sing there is the opportunity to participate in the youth band.
The Company Section of the Boys' Brigade provides activities and groups for boys in P7 upwards. The 7th Edinburgh Company is attached to Colinton Parish Church and meet on Friday Nights in the Loan Hall, Dreghorn Loan.
