Children & Youth
Children and young people are an important part of our church community here in Colinton where we offer a thriving and dynamic Children’s and Youth Ministry Programme covering pre-school children to young adults.
Through our Children’s & Youth Ministry Programme we aim to help and support children and young adults to grow in their understanding of the Christian life and to experience for themselves what it means to be part of the Christian Family.
The life of our Christian community reflects the central place of children and young people, providing them with opportunities to experience the love of Christ, through the promotion of the Christian faith, spiritual growth and self-development.
Through our Children & Youth Ministry Programme we aim to help and support children - as young adults - to grow in their understanding of the Christian life and to experience for themselves what it means to be part of the Christian Family, within a safe place where they are accepted and loved in a non-judgemental, fun and supportive environment.
As a congregation we seek to be open to the changes which young people bring to our worship, life and witness. The bases for our ministry with children and young people are these words of Jesus spoken to his disciples:
"Let the children come to me; do no try to stop them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you: whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it."
